Ioana Trușcă
Illustrator and animator (sometimes even a graphic designer), with a background in architecture and a big love for design and beautiful objects.
I often find beauty and inspiration in the mundane, depicting places, objects and moments that might otherwise pass under the radar. I think the more you pay attention to something, the more nuances you discover and the more interesting it becomes. Capturing these moments is also a way of slowing down and refocusing on the present moment, which is very precious to me.
My images are anchored in detailed compositions, rich in colour and texture. I use layers of colour to create a sense of depth, which brings my work closer to analogue techniques and allows the viewer to identify with the illustration on an emotional level. I sometimes use several framings, to better capture the atmosphere or different points of view of a moment or situation. I love telling stories through my illustrations. What I find most exciting is when my work goes beyond its initial medium and becomes part of real life, allowing people to interact with it and become part of the story without even realising it.
I also tackle more complex projects in the field of graphic design, but I try to stay focused on illustration and animation. I've always worked closely with the cultural sector: animated content or illustrations for exhibitions, posters and brochures for plays, visuals for film festivals and so on. I've also worked for clients in the education, hospitality and technology sectors. My work includes graphic design, brand identity and development, advertising and digital communications, as well as social media and print.
